The material is Palm Beach linen which is lighter weight than wool and was fairly popular in California and warmer areas

It has sections on "the Christian woman and mother" as well as prayers (daily prayers, mass, confession, communion, Devotion to the Sacred Heart, Jesus and Mother of God). There are a lot of small religious leaflets tucked inside. I left them all on the pages I found them. A good portion of the papers are older than the book: Easter Communion for 1913, 1915
