Warizansho Small Bowl / Syo Fujita coaster adding a refined textureThe warizansho shape, first appearing in the Momoyama period as part of ancient Karatsu ware, is traditionally used for mukozuke dishes in Japanese kaiseki cuisine. The name Warizansho, meaning cracked pepper, comes from its resemblance to a pepper pod splitting open and falling from the tree. This vessel features a calyx like form with three leaves, each separated by deep V shaped cuts. The rich, natural colors of Bizen wares unglazed stoneware are
