It's exquisitely made, dating from the mid 19th century, circa 1850, crafted in silver and gold with rose cut diamond eyes. But who would have worn such a pin? It's a reasonable question, and I'm instantly reminded of the infamous Hellfire Clubs of Britain and Ireland, 'where free will and Lucifer met at an uneasy junction between aristocratic entitlement and sadism'.
